I order them in the teams I feel most confident to the teams I feel have many questions and holes that I've seen in there play throughout each tournament. The biggest choices of course are Cognitive being in the 3rd position, and the rest being out of contention. I feel like the addition although, strong addition of Jintae, was a mistake to have in the end as well as I am not confident vVv have found the answer to the meta yet and Walking Zed could have problems with there own teams as well.
I could be totally wrong and I hope I am about the 3rd position, but the 2nd and 1st position are just safe picks in general they have played so well and have had the longest team synergy as a whole team. So I like those picks for sure, I just feel the dark horse pick of COGnitive will just win out because of there research and knowledge of the teams they're facing.

Otherwise will do some updates and lookthroughs of each match during the day and recap during next week as I do shoutcast for Amateur League Challenger Series tonight and the rest of the weekend!

It's quite interesting that you chose cognitive as your 3rd place, when you rated them so lowly in your earlier analysis (giving them a low chance of getting through group stage and into LCS). Although from the showings today, you might not be far off xD your first two picks seem to be very solid though, so props to you :D
ReplyDeleteJust from the showing today... unless coL manages to step up their game by a whole lot, they don't really have a chance in getting past the group stage. Quantic is still solid, TBD is looking pretty good too. vVv has been doing pretty well in the challenger leagues iirc, but then TWZ kind of walked all over them in the qualifiers for this. And I don't know how well TWZ is going to do, but from their most recent showing, they might end up around 3rd-4th. And of course there's Cog, which has just beat coL...
I guess my picks at this time would be Quantic, TBD, and TWZ. Quantic and TBD have shown their strength already in their games today, and they've been doing pretty well in the challenger league tournaments too. TWZ has beat vVv rather convincingly in the qualifiers. During NACL, TWZ went 1/1 against both Cog and coL, and as far as I can tell, they've gotten better since leaving ggLA. Maybe I'm biased, but I think they have a good chance of beating both teams. In addition, I get the feeling coL is going to place pretty low if they don't step up, and Cog had some difficulty dealing with them.
So basically, my list would go something like Quantic, TBD, TWZ, vVv, Cog, coL. Of course, I can't say for sure since I haven't actually watched games 2 and 3 tonight, only managed to watch 1 and 4, so I don't know how good or bad those games went, I only know the final scores. But so far, probably at least in some part biased due to being a fan, that's my prediction for the group stage.

Yeah looking back i might be to harsh on The Walking Zed I feel like they can hit the 3rd-4th margin, but again i distrust some of the players out of there recent higher situational games. Overall though it can flip between TWZ and COG. I love vVv and coL in the sense i love both of there communities; I just see that the patch/team synergy hit them at the wrong time and especially having to readjust again I'm not surprised if they go 5th/6th respectively.
